IEC 61215

IEC 61215 is the foundational international standard for evaluating crystalline silicon solar module reliability. It specifies tests for thermal cycling (200 cycles), damp heat (1000 hours at 85°C/85% humidity), mechanical load (2400 Pa), hail impact (25mm ice balls at 23 m/s), UV exposure, and outdoor exposure. Passing IEC 61215 is mandatory for virtually every market globally and is a precondition for Bloomberg Tier-1 status. Certification is performed by TÜV Rheinland, Intertek, CGC, UL, and other accredited labs.
