MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) is the UK's quality standard for small-scale renewable energy products and installers. For solar, MCS-approved modules and installers are required to qualify for the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) export payments and zero-VAT on residential solar. MCS-approved module list includes all major Tier-1 brands. Post-Brexit, UK is also introducing UKCA marking to replace CE.
